Authored the SmartyPlants integration pull request for Home Assistant Core, connecting plant sensors through scheduled polling and optional signed webhook updates.
- Polling the SmartyPlants service every minute, with optional signed webhooks delivering additional immediate readings.
- Keeping scheduled polling intact when push updates arrive, and representing unavailable sensors explicitly.
- Handling setup and authentication errors, masking entered credentials, and refining the scope through maintainer review.

Hi, I’m Moses.
You can call me BigBimbs.
I’m a software engineer based in Lagos, Nigeria. Since 2019, I’ve worked across healthcare, education, talent technology, and IoT — building products, connecting systems, and leading engineering teams.
My work has taken me from leading a six-engineer healthcare migration to implementing patient-data encryption, building mobile learning experiences, and connecting IoT devices to backend services. That range helps me see how one technical decision affects the rest of a product.
Building Oponeko has also given me a close view of what happens after software ships: real users, operational constraints, and the responsibility to keep improving it. I bring that product ownership to engineering roles and client engagements alike.
